How it works

From your target time to your race plan

Where the data comes from, how each split is calculated, what is measured, what is calculated, and the limits.

Three steps, from official races to your plan

  1. Official race results

We import official Hyrox race results from the public results pages: total time, division, age group and, when available, the time for each run and each station. The roxzone is derived: total time minus runs and stations.

  2. A station-by-station calculation

For your target time, we take the Pro finishers who finished within ±3 min of it and keep the median time of each segment. If the sample is too small, we widen to ±5 then ±8 min, and the window used is shown. Everything is rescaled to land on your target to the second.

    • Runs: Run 1 includes the start and often comes out slower than Run 2. After that, runs only get slower up to Run 8, the slowest. No run under 3:00/km.
    • Stations: each keeps the median time seen at your level, because a Sled Pull is not raced like a SkiErg. In Open, lighter loads shorten the sleds, lunges, wall balls and farmers carry.
    • Roxzone: the transitions between stations get their own line, with the median time seen at your level.
  3. A plan fitted to your cohort (Athlete plan)

With the Athlete plan, splits come from the median times of athletes in your division and age group. When your cohort is too small, we automatically widen it to neighbouring age groups, then to the whole division, and the widening level is always shown. You never get an empty result: without a large enough cohort, your plan is still calculated by the model.

What is measured

  • In Pro, across the range of times our data covers: the median time of each run, each station and the roxzone, within ±3 min of your time (±5 or ±8 when needed)
  • The real shape of the runs: a Run 1 slowed by the start, then a steady slowdown up to Run 8
  • With the Athlete plan: the median time of each segment for athletes in your cohort

What is calculated

  • Open: our results with splits are Pro races. The Open plan starts from that base and adjusts it to the lighter Open loads on the sleds, lunges, wall balls and farmers carry
  • Beyond the times our data covers, we keep the shape of the closest finishers, rescaled to your target
  • Doubles, Pro Doubles and Relay: no official team results in the database yet, so the split starts from the individual race and accounts for the shared work
  • Sex: our results do not record it yet. The women / men gap is applied station by station, larger on the sleds and in Pro.

By division

Pro: split fitted to Pro finishers at your level. Open: same base, adjusted to Open loads.

Doubles, Pro Doubles and Relay: split calculated from the individual race.

The limits, stated plainly

  • A plan is not a guarantee: it is a benchmark to keep you from going out too fast.
  • While a division has no real data, we tell you instead of showing a fake number.
  • Official results say nothing about your form on the day, the venue or the equipment.
